VCA Animal Hospitals Registered Veterinary Technician in Anderson, Indiana

VCA Northwood Animal Hospital is expanding their team and are seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician !

We are a full-service facility offering Urgent care, Hospitalization, Boarding and Preventative/Routine medical care. In addition to our general Veterinary services, we offer advanced services such as internal medicine consults, endoscopy, ultrasound and advanced soft tissue surgeries.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work in both our Urgent Care and Primary Care areas of the hospital. You'll provide high-quality medical care to patients requiring immediate attention in Urgent Care, while also building long-term relationships with clients and their pets in Primary Care. This dual role allows you to enhance your skills in a dynamic environment and contribute to the overall health and well-being of our patients.

The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.

  • Venipuncture and IVC placement.

  • Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.

  • Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.

  • Recognize subtle change in clinical status.

  • Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them.

  • Complete estimates, basic record keeping.

  • Anesthesia monitoring.

  • Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.

  • Dentals.

Compensation: Starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.

Schedule: Full-time opportunity with flexible scheduling, 4 x 10 hour shifts with alternating weekends and some holidays.
