embecta is searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer who will support the team in design, development and commercialization of new wearable diabetes care products. We are recruiting for a highly driven Senior Electrical Engineer with a passion for problem solving and a proven track record of successfully developing products. The Senior Electrical Engineer will report to the Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering. This role will be onsite 5 days a week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design , prototype, test, and troubleshoot electrical circuits that include motors, sensors, batteries, microcontrollers , RF, analog, & digital components
Design Test Fixtures
Schematic and layout design using Altium Design Software
Support integration activities with other teams (Firmware, Software, Systems, Mechanical, Operations & Quality)
Circuit analysis and simulation
Use Python or MATLAB to analyze data
Manage design tradeoffs on performance, risk, manufacturability, and cost
Manage vendor relationships
Lead technical reviews
Lead activities related to IEC 60601 testing
Write and perform engineering studies
Write architecture documents
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
5+ years of design and development experience in electrical engineering
Experience with Design for PCB manufacturability, assembly, and testability
Proficiency in using Lab Tools such as Oscilloscopes and Data Loggers
Experience with UART, USB, I2C, and SPI
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Proven track record of effective teamwork within a cross functional team
Detail oriented and highly organized
Experience with motors, sensors, batteries, microcontrollers, RF, analog, & digital components
Experience with PCB and Schematic Design Software (Altium Designer Preferred)
Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
Experience with high volume PCB design/manufacturing
Experience with Microchip and Silicon Labs Microcontrollers
Experience with medical electrical safety standards (IEC 60601)
Experience with FMEA and Hazard Analysis
Experience with Fail-safe designs
Experience with disposables
Experience with wearable/portable devices
Experience in a fast-paced work environment
