This is a 2nd shift onsite position and an 8% shift differential will be included in your total compensation.

In this 2nd shift role you will support the production floor of the Hardware Integration Center (HWIC) in a highly visible test engineering role. This role is suitable for someone that is looking for a challenge and has the desire to build a technical skill set focused on testing highly complex array systems in state of the art Near Field Ranges (NFR). You will apply your skills to develop, test, modify, and create solutions through a collaborative effort with various teams and provide technical direction for the test and troubleshooting of complex radar systems.

What You Will Do

  • Support a fluid production environment in a test engineering role on Array’s programs such as SPY-6 (AMDR/EASR) and LTAMDS (Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense System)

  • Troubleshoot complex radar level issues on the production floor as well as Near Field Range’s

  • Work from schematics and drawings to understand RF faults and troubleshoot utilizing common test equipment such as Network Analyzer’s, Oscilloscopes, and custom designed graphical user interfaces (GUI’s)

  • Perform root cause analysis on systemic radar issues and flow back to feeder areas and/or suppliers to help in the troubleshooting of failed subassemblies.

  • Work diligently with union technicians on a daily basis throughout the test process.

  • Interact daily with operations, quality, process/mechanical, and production control (PC) regarding most urgent immediate needs in test.

  • Review system level test data for compliancy toward specifications.

  • Interact with maintenance/test department to keep test stations fully functional.

  • Develop/update factory test procedures as needed.

  • Overtime (paid) may be required on an as needed basis.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

  • (2) years of production test/troubleshoot experience

  • (2) years of MATLAB experience

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Prior experience testing complex array systems is highly desirable, but not required.

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret failing test data and navigate schematic diagrams to diagnose fault modes.

  • Ability to understand radar systems technology in the areas of test and analysis.

  • Strong working knowledge of RF test equipment.

  • Experience preparing and executing factory test procedures.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements that will require working overtime shifts to support schedule as needed.

  • Exceptional attention to detail to identify and document any anomalies or inconsistencies in the radar test process.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Familiarity with Common PDM, using it to look up assembly drawings, parts lists, schematics, and test requirement specifications.

  • Familiarity with CMES/PRISM, to log defects as they are found during test.

  • Can operate under minimal supervision and works independently.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
