Purpose Of The Job: The Corrections Officer - Lieutenant is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Work Release program, including managing staff, and developing procedures and policies in collaboration with the Executive Director. To monitor and ensure offender compliance with rules and orders of the court; and, to assist offenders with understanding policies and procedures while on the program.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities: 1. Ensure day-to-day operational capabilities are met including but not limited to shift coverage in work release 2. Supervise all staff in the Work Release Team under his/her command 3. Assigning Team Members to shifts 4. Redirect anti-social attitudes/beliefs and affirm pro-social attitudes and beliefs 5. Creating and maintaining Team Member personnel files 6. Assessing Team Member performance and report to the Assistant Director 7. Answer pages 24 hours a day when on call and be able to respond to the situation 8. Document all violations and process them appropriately 9. Develop policies and procedures for the work release facility and employees. 10. Conduct intake interviews when needed 11. Conduct drug screens as needed and maintain drug screen records 12. Testify in court as needed 13. Report any messages of significance to the appropriate people in an attempt to keep all staff up to date on current events 14. Attend bi-weekly work release team staffing 15. Attend weekly executive team staffing 16. Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director
