Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Radiology IT Director, performs duties designed to maximize the utilization of Enterprise Imaging applications.

Responsible for the day-to-day applications support of Enterprise Imaging applications, which includes Radiology applications, the Clinical Enterprise Imaging VNA, and Enterprise Viewer. Support related tasks may include modality workflow, archiving, quality assurance of data, viewing of diagnostic images through the EMR, and other related activities. Works closely with other IT personnel, PACS personnel, and Clinical Department Managers and Supervisors to ensure proper operation of diagnostic image data transfer into the Clinical Enterprise Imaging VNA as well as viewing of diagnostic images using the Enterprise Viewer throughout the health system.

The candidate will actively contribute as a team member of the Radiology IT Data Delivery team, assisting in fulfilling research and administrative data requests. They will work closely with other IT personnel, PACS personnel, Clinical Department Managers, Researchers and Radiologists to identify and meet data needs within clinical, educational and research workflows.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in data analytics, a strong understanding of enterprise imaging systems and radiology workflows, and excellent problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with various stakeholders, including IT personnel, clinical staff, and department managers. Experience with data governance and compliance in a healthcare setting is desirable.

Responsibilities*

  • Support of the Enterprise Imaging applications. Tasks include training, workflow assessment, application trouble shooting, and performance monitoring.

  • Provides support for data analytics and reporting needs, including database queries and creation of reports and reporting dashboards.

  • Under limited supervision gathers and analyzes user needs for developing and modifying clinical workflows for the storing and viewing of clinical diagnostic images and reports.

  • Works closely with HITS and clinical departments in the development of operating standards, policies and procedures, and training programs. Reviews feedback from system users, compiles and analyzes support data, and recommends procedural and educational changes as appropriate.

  • Works closely with clinical managers? personnel to identify and design future needs and efficient workflow processes that include further integration into operations.

  • Assists in ensuring all department, hospital, Compliance, HIPAA and Joint Commission guidelines are met.

  • Provide off-hours support required

Required Qualifications*

  • Associate degree (Bachelor's degree preferred) in radiological technology or computer science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years? experience.

  • Knowledge of the physics of medical imaging and image processing, familiarity with image visualization software, understanding of the principles of digital image acquisition, basic knowledge of the various imaging modalities, understanding of DICOM communications, HL-7 interfaces, computer science background is desirable.

  • Learning and compliance with all University and Health System policies, rules, and regulations.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Epic Clarity certification

  • Experience using SQL

  • Exposure to any of these applications is a plus: Sectra, Mach7 eUnity, and Epic.

  • Experience as a diagnostic technologist (Radiology, Cardiology) or a background in medical physics is preferred
