Responsibilities*

? Coordinate and provide nursing care to patients and families in the Pediatric Infusion Center at CW Mott Children's Hospital.

? Coordinate the nursing care of patients in the pediatric infusion area. To provide efficient throughput, the nurse in this role will provide nursing care to patients and families of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, and pediatric multi-specialty divisions receiving infusion therapy.

The nurse in this role will be expected to:

? The candidate will demonstrate the ability to organize and manage multiple interventions simultaneously.

? The candidate will have excellent computer skills with proficiency in all Microsoft software applications.

? The candidate will be expected to complete 12 Hematology/Oncology CEUs annually or maintain professional certification in oncology (CPHON, OCN, BMTCN, Infusion Nurse Certification, etc.)

? They will participate in developing department goals and objectives by attending staff meetings and in-service programs, attending appropriate continuing education opportunities and staff development programs, and participating in quality improvement initiatives to support the implementation of change.

? Demonstrated critical thinking skills through the use of the nursing process, excellent problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to set priorities.

? Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to build respectful relationships within and between units and individuals.

? Demonstrated accountability and dependability including a good attendance record with punctuality.

? Demonstrated adaptability to changing needs and priorities based on unit, department, and institutional goals/objectives.

? Proficiency with typing and electronic health record documentation.

? Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills, protocols, and evidence-based interventions.

Hourly range for Registered Nurses $40.18-$62.31/ hour

  • Evening Shift Differential-$3.00 / hour

  • Night Shift Differential- $4.00 / hour

  • Night Shift Weekend Differential- $6.90 / hour

  • Charge Nurse Differential- $1.00 / hour

Nursing Specific Info

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:

This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.

Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.

Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position.

Required Qualifications*

A current license in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse.

At least one (1) year in the last five (5) years of intensive care unit experience, emergency room experience, or as a Registered Nurse in an infusion setting.

Demonstrate experience administering chemotherapy and biotherapy.

At least one (1) year of pediatric experience in the last 5 years

At least one (1) year of pediatric experience in the last 5 years

? Demonstrated experience in an ambulatory care setting.

? Demonstrated experience with ambulatory care infusion.

? Demonstrated ability to start peripheral IV access.

Work Schedule

Hours/Week: 0.9 hours per week (36hrs). 8-hour or 9hr shifts

Shift/Hours/Days: Day/ Evening Shift; Monday thru Friday with a possibility of weekend and holidays. Hours will vary, and flexibility is required.

Monday through Friday during infusion operating hours: 7:30a to 6:30p

Location: CW Mott Childrens Hospital. This is not a remote position. The nurse will be expected to be in person and on-site.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
