Red Hat Senior Project Manager, Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph Required in Annapolis, Maryland

About The Job

The Red Hat Public Sector Services team is looking for a Senior Project Manager to deliver solutions that solve our client's business challenges through actively managing high complexity technical implementations and enablement of recommended practices. In this position, you will be a vital promoter of adopting Red Hat's solutions for our customers using your project management expertise and interpersonal skills. You’ll need to have a balance of solid project management experience, awareness of open source, a thorough understanding of business processes, and the ability to identify, communicate, and solve issues at the enterprise level.

This position requires candidates to work on-site with clients, so a willingness to travel to customer locations about 30-40 weeks per year throughout the Washington D.C. metro area with occasional travel to locations throughout North America is required as is an Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.

What You Will Do

• Guide customers from initiation through successful delivery of software services engagements.

• Coordinate cross functional teams (through meetings and progress measurement activities) which bring projects to completion on time, within budget and with excellent customer satisfaction

• Actively identify, communicate, and mitigate projects risks and resolve issues

• Develop and effectively present project collateral

• Support accounting activities to support burn reporting, revenue, forecasting, and invoicing

• Continuously learn, grow, and adapt to new skills and technologies.

• Travel weekly, Monday-Thursday, to client locations, some potentially outside your local area.

• Develop innovative solutions for customers’ problems utilizing open practice library methodologies along with industry standard project management practices and Red Hat policies and procedures

• Interact with all project resources and Senior Red Hat and Customer management, and Red Hat Support teams, for example, Resource Management, Operations and Finance

After joining Red Hat, You will undergo an intensive customized training program on Red Hat technologies and services solutions. Here's how your skill set will evolve and what you'll learn during your first year in the role:

In two months, be prepared to join a project team by acquiring the following:

• Understanding of how to build production-ready technical solutions integrated with existing enterprise systems

• Learn technologies and consulting skills to enhance your abilities through enablements designed and taught by Red Hat experts and Red Hat certification

• Gain exposure and collaboration within Red Hat Services & the larger organization through everyday networking and community events

Within six months, be ready to support customer success on a project by attaining the following:

• Successful, collaborative delivery of customer projects as a technical lead through expertise in Red Hat’s technologies

• Knowledge of how a customer use case can be developed into a project plan and how those requirements align with Red Hat’s technologies

• Continue expanding your knowledge and network, both internal and external, through enablement, communities, customers, and meet-ups

Within 12 months, begin to demonstrate technical leadership by accomplishing the following:

• Successfully implementing complex, large-scale solutions in customer environments

• Active engagement and knowledge sharing with our internal and external communities of practice on lessons learned, best practices, and how-tos

What You Will Bring

• Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph

• Experience with delivering technical consulting engagements using industry specific methodologies to the U.S. Government

• Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead a project delivery team

• Demonstrated ability to meet client need and interface with executive leadership

• Ability to identify stakeholder needs and set expectations regarding project timelines and scope of work

• Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders

• Knowledge and desire to mentor

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

• Experience leading successful modern cloud platform consulting engagements and implementing and integrating Red Hat's open hybrid cloud technologies like Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat OpenShift

• Broad and deep experience with project management standards like PMP, CMS, SAFe, or equivalent)

• Practical experience with the software development lifecycle and DevSecOps approaches

• Experience with financial tools like SalesForce and professional services automation platforms

• Able to work with the leadership team to promote the adoption of best practices and processes to improve the velocity and success of consulting engagements

• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

The salary range for this position is $122,350.00 - $201,990.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
