Oracle UX Design Senior Director in Annapolis, Maryland

Job Description

Oracle Fusion ERP is looking for a new Director or Senior Director to lead the UX design of our next generation intelligent and highly automated corporate finance solutions. This position will be responsible for the designs of dozens of accounting, financial planning, reporting and analysis products that are being fundamentally reimagined with intelligence and automation at their core. These applications will be powered by state-of-the-art AI/ML/GenAI and use both GUIs and natural language interfaces to facilitate highly productive and powerful interactions with users. Perhaps even more profoundly, this position will help define the future ways corporate finance departments work, the roles and jobs within them, and the workflows through the next generation ERP system.

To do this, this leader will work closely with ERP product and Oracle Design organizations, as well as build and lead their own growing team. They will work directly with our ERP business Executives, Product Management, and Engineering leadership to collectively define and paint the vision for what our next gen products will become. They will also work closely with our Oracle Design leadership and the Redwood UI Systems team to adopt, propagate, but also define new UI patterns, especially for automation, AI/ML/GenAI, and natural language UI patterns suited for Financial applications. Finally, this leader will of course lead and manage a growing team of talented design strategists, interaction designers, visual and motion designers, and prototypers to make this all possible.

The ideal candidate has significant experience with creating sophisticated and innovative, multi-user, and large-scale enterprise systems, ideally focused on or related to corporate finance. Experience in consumer products design is also very welcome and appreciated. Other specific types of experience include the design of authoring tools, data analytics and data visualization, planning and forecasting, and management reporting UX. Designing program and project management solutions, automation systems, communication and collaboration UX, and administrative UIs, systems setup and configuration UX is also ideal. Finally, having the skills, taste, and experience creating high-polish, consumer-grade UX is a must.

The role requites a ‘player-coach’ style of leadership with a mixture of innovative strategic vision and thinking, hands on design and creative direction, and ‘get it done’ pragmatic operations and delivery. Hands-on design is expected at times to articulate high level and detailed creative direction. But the role also requires being an effective team builder, manager, communicator, persuader, and operator who can make things happen and deliver results on-time and meeting or exceeding expectations. We also need someone who can develop a strong clear point of view for what their product UX should be, design within the technical capabilities and limitations of what can be built while always pushing for more. They should also foster a user-centered approach and design process to product definition and development for Design and the entire Product team including the use of user research both generative and evaluative.
