Job Title: Assembly Technician

Job Description

Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies per engineering assembly drawings. Perform point to point wire fabrication and panel creation per electrical schematic drawings. Calibrate system hardware and controls for optimum performance. Diagnose electrical equipment, control circuits, electro-mechanical test devices, instrumentation devices, NI platform devices. Maintain a strict schedule to successfully hit project timelines, yet demonstrate flexibility in day-to-day activities to support customer needs. Work closely with Engineering staff to contribute ideas to overall system design.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate system hardware and controls for optimum performance.

  • Diagnose electrical equipment, control circuits, electro-mechanical test devices, instrumentation devices, NI platform devices.

  • Maintain a strict schedule to successfully hit project timelines, yet demonstrate flexibility in day-to-day activities to support customer needs.

  • Work closely with Engineering staff to contribute ideas to overall system design.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical, Wiring, Electrical

  • Technical Associates Degree or demonstrated equivalent experience

  • 5-10 years of experience assembling electrical/mechanical systems or demonstrated equivalent of equipment maintenance in a commercial/industrial setting

  • Strong critical thinking skills with proven ability to troubleshoot and debug issues

  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and desire to learn and expand skill set

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

  • Military experience working on complex mechanical/electrical systems

  • Associates degree in Industrial Electronic Systems or equivalent Technology degree

  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing National Instruments hardware

  • Working knowledge of NEC, sizing wire and color code electric panel, pneumatic, point-to-point wiring, and mechanical assembly experience

  • IPC and NEC Certification

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Able to travel up to 25% of the time for installations and routine maintenance/troubleshooting

  • Able to work either independently or in a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
