Job Title: Sr. Engineering Project Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a Sr. Engineering Project Manager responsible for managing medium to large scale, technically complex New Product Development (NPD) and Value Engineering projects. This role requires leading system-level project oversight with a strong sense of independence and cooperative collaboration with subject matter experts. The candidate will guide project teams through the Stage-Gate Product Development process from concept to post-release, ensuring a smooth transition into production.

Responsibilities

  • Manage medium to large scale, technically complex New Product Development and Value Engineering projects.

  • Lead system-level project oversight with independence and collaborative cooperation.

  • Guide project teams through the Stage-Gate Product Development process from concept to post-release.

  • Facilitate development brainstorming events and post-launch activities.

  • Lead the development of manufacturing production lines, including the design of fixtures and End-of-Line test equipment through IQ, OQ, PQ approvals.

  • Chair project meetings focusing on scope control, schedule updates, budget tracking, and risk management.

Essential Skills

  • 10+ years of NPD project management experience (concept to production launch).

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or other technical discipline (MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus).

  • Project Management education and PMP certification is desirable.

  • 5+ years of engineering design in a consumer product development environment and related manufacturing experience.

  • Experience managing project teams developing connected consumer products with embedded firmware, software, and Apps.

  • Training or mentoring experience in project management best practices.

  • Experience working with third-party vendors in product development and qualification.

  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and adept at relationship building.

  • Knowledge of product development processes (stage-gate, predictive, agile, and hybrid methods).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with injection mold processes.

  • Strong experience in coordinating and organizing cross-functional teams.

  • Understanding of development projects and project documentation.

Work Environment

This role requires mostly onsite presence with some hybrid flexibility. The position involves leading events and problem-solving activities with 8-12 SMEs in various functions such as hardware, software, and App engineering. Initially, the candidate will learn the Stage-Gate process and define project milestones. The work involves full-scale development of new products, understanding different development areas, and building comprehensive project plans.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00
