Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for performing and assisting physicians with patient care in an office setting. Responsibilities include: • Greeting and escorting patients to exam rooms • Rooming patients utilizing rooming standards and setting up exam rooms accordingly • Interviewing patients, measuring vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and recording information on patients' charts • Instructing patients regarding preparation for tests and procedures • Recording laboratory, x-ray, ECG results and other pertinent medical data in patients' charts • Handling incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring the doctor sees all necessary information • Cleaning and stocking exam rooms, including monthly instrument cleaning, sterilization of instruments, and refilling of supplies as necessary • Handling patient telephone calls as directed by Triage Nurse • Screening patient telephone calls to physicians and calling patients to relay advice, information, and instructions from physicians • Calling in prescriptions and refills to pharmacies under physician direction • Scheduling special appointments (i.e., referrals, surgeries, x-ray, and lab) • Assessing and scheduling appointments for patients • Speaking to callers, patients, physicians, other staff, and anyone they interact with during their assigned work hours in a polite, courteous, understandable manner that projects a high quality of customer service • Abstracting medical information on patient into the EMR

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Work Environment

4-day work week with a varying schedule depending on the doctor and/or if they are in a float position. Hours are between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., totaling 36 - 40 hours per week.
