Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to complete new part quality documentation requirements. This includes creating ballooned drawings, inspection check sheets, operator instructions, SPC charts, process flow diagrams, process failure mode and effects analysis, process control plans, dimensional layout requirements, part submission warrants, capability studies, and measurement system analysis. The Quality Engineer will review CMM programs to ensure they correlate with ballooned drawings, create CMM setup instructions, and verify program accuracy when discrepancies arise. The role involves performing in-depth part layouts using CMMs and other layout techniques, documenting and reporting results, conducting incoming inspections and layouts for various supplied products, and following standardized procedures for first piece, in-process, and final inspections. The Quality Engineer will also perform measurement system analysis, including gage R&R studies, investigate non-conformances, recommend corrective actions, and maintain quality awareness throughout the company by mentoring and training employees.

Responsibilities

  • Complete new part quality documentation requirements including ballooned drawings, inspection check sheets, operator instructions, SPC charts, process flow diagrams, process failure mode and effects analysis, process control plans, dimensional layout requirements, part submission warrants, capability studies, and measurement system analysis.

  • Review CMM programs to ensure they correlate with ballooned drawings and create CMM setup instructions as needed.

  • Prove out programs and verify accuracy when discrepancies arise.

  • Perform in-depth part layouts using CMMs and other layout techniques, documenting and reporting results.

  • Conduct incoming inspections and layouts for casting, forging, or other supplied products.

  • Follow standardized procedures for first piece, in-process, and final inspections across a variety of customized parts.

  • Perform measurement system analysis, including gage R&R studies.

  • Investigate non-conformances and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Maintain quality awareness throughout the company by mentoring and training employees in collaboration with the Sr. Quality Engineer, Quality Supervisor, and Quality Manager.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Manufacturing Engineering degree preferred

  • Quality Associate degree preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in Quality required

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF requirements preferred

Work Environment

The work environment is dynamic and involves working with a variety of customized parts and products. The role requires adherence to standardized procedures and instructions for inspections. The Quality Engineer will collaborate closely with sr. quality staff and other team members, ensuring a high standard of quality awareness and continuous improvement within the company.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00
