About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Network Technician to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our organization's network infrastructure. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of our network systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security for all users.

Responsibilities

  • Network Infrastructure Management:

  • Install, configure, and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

  • Design, implement, and manage network services including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and network security protocols.

  • Optimize network performance through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and configuration adjustments.

  • User Support and Training:

  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users on network-related issues.

  • Assist with user onboarding and training on proper network resource utilization.

  • Network Monitoring and Security:

  • Proactively monitor network activity for performance and security threats.

  • Implement and maintain robust network security measures including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.

  • Respond effectively to network outages and security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive network documentation encompassing network diagrams, hardware/software inventories, and configurations.

  • Generate reports on network health, performance, and security metrics.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Network Technician or a similar IT support role.

  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and technologies.

  • Hands-on experience with network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).

  • Proficiency in network management and analysis tools (e.g., SNMP, Wireshark).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative while also being a team player.

  • Preference for relevant IT certifications (CompTIA Network+, CCNA).

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
