Eaton Corporation Shipping Coordinator - 1st shift in Arden, North Carolina

Eaton’s ESSG PDCAD Power Distrib Control Assy Div division is currently seeking a Shipping Coordinator - 1st shift.

Shift Hours: 6am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday

The hourly rate for this position is $20 per hour.

What you’ll do:

The primary function of this position is providing expertise in cross functional support of multiple product lines between shipping, receiving , and the offsite Warehouse. This position will require very strict control of inventory, high organization skills, and self-driven actions with little supervision. This position will require the use of all powered industrial trucks used within the facilities. Will require direct communication with other material handlers, product line supervisors and team leads, as well as drivers and off site warehouse personnel.

Major Work Activities

• Responsible to accurately and efficiently ship gear and loose parts based on customer orders. Matching up the shipping order or 5501 to ensure the right material is shipped to the right location

• Manage Shipping Dock to ensure effective flow of material. This includes coordination with final assembly areas and inspectors to clear ship shorts and pink tagged gear

• Interface between Avery Creek and Heywood Rd facilities to resolve shipping and delivery issues

• Interface between various departments within the facility to resolve shipping and delivery issues

• Safely operate PIV equipment and adhere to added safety precautions

• High level knowledge in shipment tracking systems (LTL, Parcel, Transplace)

• Require strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong persuasive skills with Driver interaction on delayed shipments

• Complete Daily Pre-Use Inspection of PIV equipment for damage or wear that would deem it unsafe to operate. Reporting any findings to supervisor or Maint. immediately

• Use of specialized equipment including but not limited to 22K fork truck, electric pallet jack, overhead motorized crane

• Expert skills in loading Flatbeds, Conestoga’s and Dry Vans, side loading and nose to rear weight distribution and tarping

• Use of CI to improve the way we stock and store material

• Required to wear High Viz at all times

• Prepare items for shipment, wrapping, tarping, posting weights and accurate shipping details

• Coordinate required emergency shipments and requests

• Support End of Month with extended hours

• Ability to support cross functional operations as needed and see where those needs are

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of one (1) year of forklift experience

  • Must reside within a 50 mile radius of Arden, NC. Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirement.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future

Position Success Criteria:

  • Certified PIV operator or ability to become certified

  • Proven track record of safe PIV operation

  • Self-starter

  • Ability to work and complete tasks with minimal direction

  • Ability to work in a cross functional support role
