SUMMARY

Directs, coordinates and exercises functional authority for design, planning, organization, control, and integration for the completion of facility engineering projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Formulates engineering solutions to problems and develops plans according to project requirements. This may involve technical studies, calculations and

  • Prepares specifications and designs; resolves engineering design and/or installation

  • Maintains project files and drawings; resolves engineering design and/or installation

  • Provides technical assistance to Project Engineers and Designers and to the Plant Maintenance Department.

  • Oversees and checks work performed by the Project Engineers.

  • Trains, supervises, motivates and evaluates subordinate personnel.

  • Develops and implements departmental goals, objectives, and priorities.

  • Consults with and receives proposals and quotes from contractors and

  • Prepares drawings, cost estimates, time schedule, written descriptions and instructions for the

  • Coordinates activities of contractors, maintenance and production personnel to efficiently complete projects.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; and ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with AutoCAD, Solid Works, ISO, and Enterprise Resource Planning.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Design software; Manufacturing software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Most of their time is spent in the office, but occasionally the engineers need to go into the facility.
