Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

Use deep subject matter/ functional expertise, communication and process skills to help internal/external customers and stakeholders identify and define problems. Develop analytic solutions for the healthcare industry with a focus on operationalizing machine learning models and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Develop data models, predictive/prescriptive analytics (Machine Learning/Deep Learning), quantitative models, visualization, and general-purpose programming. Develop foundational and large language models for healthcare domain. Identify the data attributes, define and monitor metrics and create data narratives. Communicate results and analytical concepts to key stakeholders and business leaders. Lead data science projects and partners with cross functional teams to deliver end-to-end advanced analytics/machine learning based (apps) tiles. Work across diverse teams, perspectives and opinions and quickly build consensus. Drive exploratory and research on different types of Artificial Intelligence models and determine which modeling approach to use, model the algorithm and build a prototype. Develop capability requirements and transition plan for the next generation of AI/ML enablement technology, tools, and processes. File patents to protect intellectual property. Assist in operationalizing and maintaining artificial intelligence models. Develop techniques to test data and model quality. Provide supervision and development opportunities for junior colleagues by mentoring and building a team-based work environment.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Position requires a Master’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Engineering (any), Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics, and 2 years of experience in a related Data Science occupation. The position also requires: 2 years of experience with advanced analytical methods: machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning; model predictive control, combinatorial optimization; applied statistics, generative AI; and software engineering and relevant predictive, prescriptive and cognitive technologies. Able to apply these techniques to develop digital AI products; 2 years of experience working with distributed computing environment: Spark; 2 years of experience of using software development languages (Python, Java, Scala, C++), and experience with Software stacks (frontend/backend services); 1 year of experience with database design and scripting, and experience with Database design including T-SQL scripting; 1 year of experience of developing and delivering software products, experience using lean agile processes for developing software products and Shipping Artificial Intelligence products in production environment at high cadence; 2 years of experience and proven success in leading data science projects with cross functional teams, delivering end-to-end advanced analytics, and working across diverse teams, building consensus among teams and members with different perspectives and opinions; 1 year of MLOps experience using source code control tools, infrastructure tools like Jenkins, cloud infrastructure like azure or aws, and building robust test environments (including A/B) testing, containerization, monitoring, and model management operations resulting in optimized model performance. Up to 25% for travel required (majority domestic and some international) to client sites and conference locations for consulting, training and learning. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report/appear into/at the GE Healthcare IITS USA Corp. offices in Arlington Heights, IL.
