Job Summary
The position, Research Scientist Assistant I, will be under the Department of Kinesiology at CONHI and reporting directly to Dr. Kamal Awad, Assistant Professor of Research at the Department and the Bone-Muscle Research Center. This position will manage the lab research studies, as well as day-to-day laboratory task
Job Terminates within 9 months due to grant funding ending in July 2025.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists with and performs experimental data collection.
Performs data analysis.
Maintains the organization and cleanliness of the lab.
Ordering of lab supplies.
Trains other lab personnel on laboratory processes.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in biology or other related field.
Applicant must demonstrate competence in wet lab techniques and basic science skills (histology, confocal microscopy, cell culture, PCR, ELISA, Western blots, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
Background in vascular physiology and/or bone biology.
Prior lab management experience
Experienced in organic chemistry techniques.
Bioinformatics & Genetics Knowledge
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must demonstrate competence in wet lab techniques and basic science skills (histology, confocal microscopy, cell culture, PCR, ELISA, Western blots, etc.).
