Amazon Associate Corporate Counsel, AWS Sales and Marketing Legal in Arlington, Virginia

Description

Amazon’s Legal Department is looking for a talented Associate Corporate Counsel to support Amazon Web Services (AWS), a dynamic and rapidly growing business at the forefront of cloud computing. The role will primarily support the AWS Professional Services business – a team dedicated to helping AWS customers achieve desired business outcomes when using the AWS Cloud – with a focus on leading large professional services data migration deals and supporting various Generative AI initiatives.

The successful candidate has excellent communication, organizational and transactional drafting skills, and will support contract negotiations and provide counseling on products, including counseling on intellectual property, privacy and AI/ML matters. You will help develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, and build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly. You will also participate in team-wide meetings, departmental goals and collaborative projects, and have access and visibility to business leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of legal experience

  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent

  • Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work

  • Experience in web services/cloud computing, software licensing, telecommunications or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
