POLITICO Benefits Manager in Arlington, Virginia

Description

POLITICO is seeking a Benefits Manager to provide strategic direction, management, communication, and execution of benefits to employees in the US and Canada. This includes all health and welfare benefits, the 401K plan, leave administration and wellness initiatives.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage the annual benefits review and renewal process for all benefit programs.

  • Serve as primary point of contact and subject matter expert on U.S. and Canadian health and welfare benefits (majority of employees are in US), 401K, and leave of absence policies.

  • Establish and maintain benefits vendor relationships ensuring procedures are followed to minimize cost and provide data-driven input to the decision-making process from year to year.

  • Partner with the broader HR team to educate on and administer POLITICO’s benefits programs.

  • Coordinate and execute the annual benefits enrollment process, including developing communication materials and resources and partnering with the Sr. HRIS Manager to make the necessary updates.

  • Collaborate with the Senior HRIS and Data Analytics Manager to identify and plan for technology needs to support benefits initiatives including vendor integrations, file feeds, benefits audits and compliance testing and reporting.

  • Administer POLITICO’s 401(k) plan including serving a member on the 401K committee, acting as primary liaison with the 401K recordkeeper and leading processing of annual non-discrimination testing.

  • Ensure Compliance on a broad range of applicable laws including, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FSAs, HSAs, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, ACA and other state and federal laws.

  • Provide back-up to the Benefits Analyst on all open enrollment, new hire, family status and evidence of insurability changes ensuring adherence to all plan rules.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in human resources or a related field and 5-7 years of benefits experience

  • Adept at communicating effectively, both in writing and verbally, across all levels of internal and external stakeholders while inspiring confidence

  • Strong project management skills with an ability to identify and analyze business and organizational needs.

  • Ability to gather, synthesize and analyze data, draw conclusions and provide recommendations.

  • Ability to understanding and communicate financial impact of Benefits programs to relevant parties.

  • Well-developed organization skills with a close attention to detail.

  • Eager to learn, collaborate and work in a high growth environment.

Please note this role is fully onsite at our HQ in Arlington, VA.
