Amazon Business Intelligence Engineer, Sales Compensation Management in Arlington, Virginia

We are looking for entrepreneurial, analytical, creative, Business Intelligence Engineers to help us in the Global Sales Compensation space.

As a BIE you will work with Sales, Sales Strategy, Sales Design, Revenue, and Finance teams and datasets to extract insights and build metrics that will help our business move forward. An ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the Sales Compensation space, and will be an expert in BIE tools and processes. You will have excellent SQL, ETL, implement new reporting solutions, and deliver successfully against high standards. The individual must have the ability to communicate effectively across multiple technical and non-technical business units, as well as across other geographies.

Key job responsibilities

  • Run large initiatives to improve efficiency & accuracy, and timeliness of Sales Compensation related insights.

  • Develop new ways to define and measure sales plan & programs effectiveness and organizational productivity

  • Become a data SME and have ability to respond to ad-hoc requests from Sales Leaders.

  • Define the key sales support systems/processes required to meet the rapid growth of the business and achieve attainment across AWS Sales globally.

  • Develop relationships and processes with sales, support, marketing, partner, finance, HR, sales operations, and other stakeholders to identify and address reporting requirements and develop new business insights.

  • Identify reporting issues, gaps in processes, and drive timely resolution

  • Be an expert in analytics tools required to support the team

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional or military experience

  • 5+ years of SQL experience

  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

  • Experience with AWS technologies

  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
