This position is part of the Business Operations team within the AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) organization and will be focused on working with the AWS Industries’ Media, Entertainment, Games, and Sports (MEGS) Industry Business Unit as they grow and scale the business globally. Within the SMGS organization, the Business Operations team acts as business partners and trusted advisors to AWS Industries and Strategic Accounts teams, accelerating growth and customer outcomes. We maximize seller productivity and Go-to-Market (GTM) motions by delivering actionable business insights and company-wide transformational mechanisms with agility and scale.
We are seeking an experienced Business Operations Lead to partner with the MEGS industry Business Operations Leader to define and execute against the strategic priorities of the global MEGS industry. The ideal candidate earns trust through performance and relationship building, thinks strategically and analytically about business challenges, has a deep analytical background to assist the AWS MEGS Industry business unit in meeting their business objectives, delivering customer outcomes, and driving continuous improvements in seller productivity.
The candidate must be willing to “roll up their sleeves”, be a self-starter with a bias towards problem solving, a passion for diving into data, identifying and eliminating roadblocks, and has the foresight to anticipate business needs, make tradeoffs, and balance business dynamics, despite constraints. The MEGS industry Business Operations Lead will thrive in a fast-paced environment, will be able to manage through ambiguity and complexity, and constantly seek ways to invent and simplify operational mechanisms. The MEGS industry Business Operations Lead will be responsible for looking around corners and measuring the performance of the organization, will deliver relevant and timely, actionable insights on the health of their business, and will effectively manage the operating cadence for the team.
Maturity, strong judgment, and the ability to influence are all essential to success in this role. The successful candidate has excellent business and sales acumen, strong communication and collaboration skills, deep analytics experience, broad technical skills, and a demonstrated ability to both execute and influence.
The person in this role will act as a trusted advisor, partnering with global MEGS industry leadership and other cross-functional teams to automate and optimize operational mechanisms, and invent new ways of diving deep with data to uncover actionable insights that help us serve our internal and external customers.
This role must be located in an AWS Hub office in the US, with a strong preference for New York City. Key job responsibilities
Account maintenance using SFDC (data mining and cleaning).
Redesign SFDC account structure to align with MEGS industries Customers and Go-to-Market strategies.
Maintaining MEGS industry Go-to-Market mapping.
Monitor the internal revenue routing systems to ensure revenue is routing accurately.
Track and report all key performance indicators and trend analyses for weekly executive business reviews.
Participate in and support MEGS industry strategic and bi-annual account planning activities.
Leverage data, metrics, and analysis to provide accurate, actionable insights and make informed recommendations to sales leaders. Inform with anecdotes when data is lacking.
Define requirements for specific tooling to support mechanisms.

About the team

Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of leading a divisional operations function or similar responsibilities supporting sales functions
Advanced expertise with Salesforce.com (SFDC)
Demonstrated ability to define, refine and implement sales/business operations mechanisms and policies
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word
Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Tableau or other BI/analytics tools
Business Operations or Sales Operations background
Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to think strategically about business challenges using data
Experience presenting to senior leadership
Ability to convey operational status and issues to multiple levels of the organization with the appropriate level of detail and clarity.
Experience in multiple organizational programs such as goals setting, training/enablement and metrics development.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $169,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
