Defense Security Service DATA SCIENTIST in Arlington, Virginia
Summary DCSA's DoD Insider Threat Management and Analysis Center (DITMAC) is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to lead and provide data analytic enterprise services under the direction of the Chief of the Performance, Requirements, Information Standards, and Metrics (PRISM) office. Additionally, the selectee will assist the PRISM Chief in developing and upholding data standards as well as identifying and reporting progress on key performance indicators. Responsibilities As a DATA SCIENTIST you will be responsible for the following duties: Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide metrics programs to measure operational effectiveness, compliance and risk Utilize data analytic tools to analyze large datasets, generate insights, and produce detailed reports and trend analysis for performance improvement Conduct root cause analysis to identify performance gaps and implementing strategies to optimize processes Lead initiatives to standardize data formats and KPI's across DITMAC Engage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This position has a Basic Requirement for the 1501: Basic Requirements: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. or Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-13) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience in defining, developing, and implementing performance requirements across an organization or large-scale enterprise system. This involves developing and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure efficiency, quality, and compliance, as well as designing performance dashboards and reports to provide executive leadership with actionable insights. Additionally, experience would include working with cross-functional teams to enforce governance policies and standardizing data formats. Education If substituting education for experience at the GG-13 level, you must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Quantitative Social Science, or Actuarial Science OR a master's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Quantitative Social Science, or Actuarial Science OR a combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Quantitative Social Science, or Actuarial Science.
