The Analytical Solutions Division (ASD) of Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc., has an exciting opportunity for a full-time DoD Financial Analyst-Hybrid within NCR . The potential candidate will provide expertise for all Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution activities. This support includes interaction with Washington Headquarters Services and the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, Office of the Director of Business Operations. Candidate should possess a sharp analytical mind, strong excel skills, multiple years of experience in either accounting, financial management and analysis, or a solid understanding of project management principles.

Anticipated annual salary range: $100,000 to $110,000. Offer may vary depending on experience, skill set, and location.

Primary Responsibilities of DoD Financial Analyst :

  • Assist the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters oversee budget formulation and execution of the office’s appropriated budget to meet and exceed Comptroller execution benchmarks

  • Prepare Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests, Interagency Agreements, Determination & Findings Packages associated with budget execution

  • Participate in mid-year reviews; address unliquidated obligations; and monitor obligation and expenditure rates for Nuclear Matters Program Elements

  • Prepare background material, attend, and record minutes for scheduled meetings

Must Haves as a DoD Financial Analyst :

  • Applicant must be a U.S. citizen

  • Applicant must hold an active Top-Secret security clearance and be eligible to access Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) to apply for this position ( may be open to a Secret clearance holder who can obtain a TS/SCI)

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related (accounting / financial management / project management or a combination of) experience is required

  • Candidate shall have demonstrated experience with Microsoft Project (i.e. including basic schedule logic relationship management, as well as the incorporation of multiple source schedules, using imbedded Microsoft Project analysis tools and interfacing multiple schedules)

  • Working knowledge and experience with coordination of plans, documents, reports and data bases

  • Ability to manage and prioritize numerous assignments

  • Organization and time management skills

  • Demonstrated excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills

  • Minimum: 3 years DoD program experience relating to ACAT programs

Wish List/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience within the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Defense Agencies Initiative financial management system.
