Red River Inside/Outside Plant Manager in Arlington, Virginia

Job Summary:

The Inside/Outside Plant Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the management, maintenance, and expansion of inside and outside plant infrastructure within a secure environment. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, and an active TS/SCI Clearance. The ideal candidate will hold an RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification and have the ability or proof of current OSP (Outside Plant) Confined Space Training. The Inside/Outside Plant Manager will ensure that all plant operations comply with industry standards and government regulations while supporting the organization's telecommunications needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of inside and outside plant infrastructure, ensuring reliable and efficient service delivery.

  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of inside and outside plant facilities, including cabling systems, fiber optics, and related infrastructure.

  • Develop and implement strategies for the expansion and upgrade of plant facilities to meet the growing needs of the organization.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, government regulations, and safety protocols, particularly in confined space operations.

  • Coordinate with other departments and external contractors to facilitate plant-related projects and activities.

  • Maintain accurate records of plant infrastructure, modifications, and maintenance activities.

  • Provide leadership and direction to plant personnel, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required.

  • 3 years of relevant experience in managing inside and outside plant operations.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification is required.

  • Proof of current OSP Confined Space Training or the ability to attain such training.

Security Clearance:

  • Must possess an active TS/SCI Clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of inside and outside plant infrastructure, including cabling systems and fiber optics.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for telecommunications infrastructure.

  • Experience with confined space operations and adherence to associated safety protocols.

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to direct and motivate a team.

  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.

  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.

Work Environment:

The Inside/Outside Plant Manager will primarily work on-site at secure facilities, requiring strict adherence to security and safety protocols. The role may involve working in confined spaces and outdoor environments, and may require the use of personal protective equipment. The position may also necessitate availability outside of standard working hours to address emergency situations or critical project timelines.
