The Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team is seeking a qualified Principal PM to build programs that create a safe workplace and build a world class safety culture in midst of Amazon’s explosive growth. In this role, you will dive deep into Fulfillment Center (FC) Processes, identify risks through data and first-hand experience, build programs and improve processes to eliminate risks, and influence Operations to sustain a culture of safety. This role calls for an individual who is technically smart to gain credibility with customers and stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

The PM role will challenge you to push boundaries and lead transformative innovation while having the autonomy to make rapid data-driven decisions and invent on behalf of FC Operators and Associates. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with members from various teams, including Operations, AFT, AR, IB Supply Chain, Launch, S&OP, Capacity Planning, Finance etc. to deploy solutions at scale.

  • Brings strategic business context to decisions made across groups. Is comfortable collaborating and influencing team members, working with development teams and other business groups, and presenting projects to senior leadership on a regular basis

  • Has the ability to partner to build and execute on new initiatives and roadmaps each year

  • Will compile, manage and report on weekly project metrics and be responsible for leading many high profile meetings to align on project requirements

  • Builds relationships and identifies with stakeholders across the organization

  • Has the technical aptitude to quickly grasp complex technical issues and communicate directly with technical teams

  • Has fulfillment center operational skills to identify and implement solutions that scale with our scale

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • 5+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality

  • MBA

  • Experience defining and executing program requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
