Drug Enforcement Administration PROGRAM ANALYST in Arlington, Virginia

Summary This position is located in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Operations Division (OC), Office of Foreign Operations (OF), Foreign Administrative Support Section (OFS) in Arlington, VA. This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as a Senior Program Analyst and advisor to management on the evaluation of the effectiveness of programs, operations and organizations. Responsibilities As a PROGRAM ANALYST your typical work assignments may include: Serves as senior analyst in developing and devising detailed plans, goals, and objectives for long range implementation for agency programs. Analyzes interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency and productivity. and objectives. Plans, organizes and conducts studies of DEA Offices and divisions in order to assess organizations resources. Provides technical guidance to headquarters and offices in areas of operational and management plans and policies, procedures and resource utilization. Develops agency policy based on management interest in initiating change, realignments, and reorganizations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Applicants must meet the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of the announcement. Applicants applying for the GS-12 must meet the following requirements: Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-11 grade level. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzes interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency and productivity; 2) Plans, organizes and conducts studies of DEA Offices and divisions in order to assess organizations resources; 3) Provides technical guidance to headquarters and offices in areas of operational and management plans and policies, procedures and resource utilization. Applicants applying for the GS-13 must meet the following requirements: Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-12 grade level. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serves as an expert in developing and devising detailed plans, goals, and objectives for long range implementation and administration of major agency programs; 2) Analyzes interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency and productivity; 3) Plans, organizes and conducts studies of DEA Offices and divisions in order to assess organizations resources; 4) Provides technical guidance to headquarters and offices in areas of operational and management plans and policies, procedures and resource utilization. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
