GAP Solutions Inc Program Manager (Substance Abuse Program, Suicide Prevention Program, And Risk Reduction Support) in Arlington, Virginia

Position Objective: Provide services as a Program Manager in support of the overall functions of the Army National Guard’s Substance Abuse Program (SAP), Suicide Prevention Program (SPP) And Risk Reduction Support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Increase individual fitness and overall unit readiness.

  • Implement alcohol and other drug risk deterrence, prevention, education, and rehabilitation strategies that respond to potential problems before they jeopardize readiness, productivity, and careers.

  • Restore to duty those substance-impaired Soldiers who have the potential for continued military Service.

  • Facilitate and promote data informed decision making through the delivery and review of unit risk assessments.

  • Develop and implement evidence based risk mitigation plans for units, States/Territories/DC , and the National Guard.

  • Make recommendations for resilience, risk reduction, and suicide prevention evidence based best practices and their practical implementation.

  • Develop, implement, and integrate evaluation, needs assessments, and action plans for the Commanders Ready and Resilient Council and similar bodies, efforts, and work groups.

  • Analyze suicide trends, research, and other applicable laws, DoD, Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), and NG policies, guidance, and initiatives which support Comprehensive Soldier and Family Fitness (CSF2)/Comprehensive Airman Fitness (CAF) and Total Force Fitness initiatives.

  • Recommend, develop, track and report metrics of success to evaluate Total Force Fitness domains as implemented in the NG.

  • Provide input into the NG TFF process and systems as they are developed by the government

  • Conform to joint program information sharing and collaboration, supporting experts on ANG and ARNG who can iterate together.

  • Recommend systems, processes, and procedures to increase efficiencies within the Warrior Resilience and Fitness Division.

  • Support national strategic communications to the field, stakeholders, and senior leaders and policymakers. Translate strategic information into actionable guidance.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Social Work, or similar degree and 10 years of experience in managing programs OR:

    Shall have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Social Work or similar degree from an accredited school, 3-9 years of experience in managing programs, and 10 years of experience with the military.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with non-technical and technical staff

  • Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
