Amazon Risk Program Manager, Strategic Initiatives - Internal Audit in Arlington, Virginia

We are looking for an experienced program management professional to help maintain a high-bar and scale our organization.

Key job responsibilities

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate high judgement, clear communication and a consistent track record of delivering results. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, and understand the importance of operationalizing key mechanisms and management reporting. You will be a key interface and partner across all levels of the global IA team. You will coach and mentor audit team members, identify training needs, increase awareness of the business and risks, and stay current with professional practice changes and internal auditing best practices. You will earn the trust of the global audit team and lead through influence. You will exhibit a bias for action and a passion for operational excellence, driving continuous improvement to our processes and standards while you invent and simplify and will insist on the highest standards.

About the team

The Strategic Initiatives team is focused on driving improvements in quality and efficiency that change the way IA operates and increases department impact.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience in program requirements definition, together with data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience

  • Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials

  • Experience with SQL and Excel

  • Master's degree in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field.

  • Experience with quality and process improvement program development and implementation

  • Strong writing skills and editing experience, meticulous attention to detail.

  • Experience leading and sustaining learning & development programs, metrics, reporting

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively drive collaboration

  • Ability to motivate, influence, and manage diverse teams

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize, summarize and communicate important data

  • Experience drafting and developing operating procedures and guidelines

  • Big 4 accounting/consulting firm experience

  • Experience with process improvement, project management, Kaizen, and six sigma .

  • PMP or CRMA Certification

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
