Red River Senior Circuit Engineer in Arlington, Virginia

Job Summary:

The Senior Circuit Engineer is a specialized role responsible for the design, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting of both digital and analog circuits within a Department of Defense (DoD) IT environment. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering circuit layout diagrams, circuit design, and help desk support operations. The ideal candidate will have an active TS/SCI Clearance and possess extensive knowledge of IP and optical network operation, DoD network and system security requirements, and network-based software applications. The Senior Circuit Engineer will utilize monitoring tools for proactive and reactive support and adhere to industry-accepted standards and IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create engineering circuit layout diagrams for digital and analog circuits, ensuring compliance with DoD requirements.

  • Design and implement digital and analog circuits, applying best practices in circuit engineering.

  • Conduct analysis, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  • Provide help desk support and operation, utilizing monitoring tools for network and systems infrastructure.

  • Maintain knowledge of IP and optical network operation, enhancing network efficiency and security.

  • Ensure adherence to DoD network and system security requirements in all circuit designs and implementations.

  • Communicate effectively with the highest levels of management, providing oral and written reports on circuit engineering projects and issues.

  • Stay current with industry-accepted standards and ITSM best practices related to Information Management Operations.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in creating engineering circuit layout diagrams.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in digital and analog circuit design and implementation.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in analysis, testing, and troubleshooting circuits.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with help desk support and operation in a DoD IT environment.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Certification requirements are not specified for this role.

Security Clearance:

  • Must possess an active TS/SCI Clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of IP and optical network operation.

  • Familiarity with DoD network and system security requirements.

  • Proficiency in networking and network-based software applications.

  • Experience with the utilization of monitoring tools for network and systems support.

  • Knowledge of industry-accepted standards and ITSM best practices.

  • Demonstrated ability for oral and written communication with the highest levels of management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Work Environment:

This position will be primarily on-site at the Pentagon Reservation, where the Senior Circuit Engineer will work within secure facilities and must comply with all security protocols. The role may involve travel to various sites for data collection and project management. While the opportunity to work from home may be available, it is not guaranteed and will depend on the specific requirements of the role and managerial discretion. Due to the nature of the position, there may be occasions that necessitate availability and action outside of standard working hours.
