Key job responsibilities

  1. Strategic Customer Engagement
  • Work backwards from customer's business outcomes to develop tailored AWS solutions

  • Build and maintain executive-level stakeholder relationships within client organizations

  • Understand and align AWS offerings with complex healthcare & life sciences industry needs

  1. Revenue Generation and Goal Achievement
  • Meet or exceed assigned revenue targets and business objectives

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive long-term growth

  • Identify and pursue upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts

  1. Technical Solution Development
  • Understand complex technology requirements specific to healthcare & life sciences

  • Collaborate with AWS solution architects and/or AWS partners to design and propose innovative cloud solutions

  • Articulate the value proposition of AWS services in addressing customer pain points

  1. Industry Expertise
  • Stay current with healthcare & life sciences trends, regulations, and challenges

  • Provide thought leadership and insights to customers on industry-specific cloud adoption

  • Leverage industry knowledge to position AWS as a strategic partner in cloud and digital transformation

  1. Innovation and Knowledge Sharing
  • Drive innovation within customer accounts and internally at AWS

  • Build and share knowledge across the organization to enhance collective expertise

  1. Relationship Management
  • Foster strong, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers and influencers

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful solution implementation

  1. Business Analysis and Problem-Solving
  • Analyze customer business challenges and translate them into technical requirements

  • Develop compelling business cases and ROI models to justify AWS investments

  • Identify and mitigate potential roadblocks in the sales process

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AWS services, features, and best practices

  • Adapt sales strategies to evolving market conditions and customer needs

  • Pursue relevant certifications and professional development opportunities

A day in the life

A day in the life of an AWS Healthcare & Life Sciences Cloud Sales Representative is dynamic and multifaceted. From pipeline reviews to customer calls, the role balances strategic planning with hands-on problem-solving. Key activities include presenting cloud solutions to provider and payer CIOs, collaborating with solution architects on cloud architecture proposals, and strategizing with internal teams on new healthcare & life sciences go to market campaigns. The Cloud Sales Representative continuously toggles between technical discussions, business case development, and relationship building. Whether optimizing a genomics platform or helping a health tech startup scale securely, the focus remains on leveraging AWS to drive innovation and efficiency in healthcare.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical sales in B2B environments, in a solution-sales / technology-related environment experience

  • Knowledge of existing and developing technologies

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certification (Cloud Technologist, Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, Developer)

  • Healthcare & Life Sciences industry experience

  • Engineering, computer science, or MIS experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
