Amazon Senior Order to Cash (O2C) Public Sector Manager, AWS Global Accounts Receivable Team in Arlington, Virginia

The AWS Accounts Receivable team is seeking a self-driven Finance Manager with a strong owner’s mindset, relentless customer advocacy, and frontline obsession to be the global accounts receivables leader for the AWS Public Sector (PS) channel. The successful candidate will help us to build the accompanying processes and mechanisms to support this growth and improve free cash flow globally. This will require working across teams that span multiple geographies to drive policy, process, internal and partner facing tools, building and guiding frontline collections, and cash application teams.

A critical factor for this position’s success is the ability to manage deep levels of complexity, distill this into easily understood and actionable steps, and deliver results within an aggressive timeline. You must be great at communicating complex issues simply and to any audience. You will devise clear strategy, positioning and execution priorities and will be comfortable thinking big and diving deep. This leader will be a pragmatic visionary who can identify opportunities and lead the team to translate them into workable, scalable technology solutions, and must be comfortable partnering and influencing business leaders, customers, technology, and operations stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

The O2C WWPS Single Threaded Leader (STL) role is an individual contributor that will count with execution support from a dotted line organization, including Service Centers, Business and Tech teams. The STL must be strategic and detail oriented, have strong accounting and finance skills, robust interpersonal and influencing skills (this role will have frequent communication with senior leadership), strong organizational and project management skills, and the ability to gather business and technical requirements across global teams to drive systems and change management processes. The STL will need to roll up his/her sleeves, work independently, and have a high level of ownership and accountability.

A day in the life

• Partner with Business teams to gather feedback and align on problem resolution next steps

• Identify and quantify process defects that impact the customer experience and timely collection of cash;

• Establish productivity mechanisms to satisfy WWPS needs across AWS to scale with business growth in volume and complexity;

• Work with local, regional and global teams to drive escalations that hinder collections

• Through deep dives and working directly with frontline teams, drive mechanisms and processes that improve productivity for AWS O2C process;

• Communicate Customer requirements to Business teams, influencing technical roadmaps and strategies.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 6+ years of Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

  • Program and project management experience

  • Advanced Excel skills, comfortable handling and analyzing data

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Proven track record of taking end-to-end ownership and driving results; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, effectively delegate, and coordinate across functional teams

  • Highly detailed driven with emphasis on growth and operations at scale, together with the ability to manage the immediate, short and long term concurrently

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be comfortable engaging with executive management

  • Experience in Accounts Receivable within large organizations, including Public Sector portfolio

  • Program management experience in a high-tech organization or in a consulting firm
