Amazon Software Development Engineer , Finance Technology in Arlington, Virginia

Do you want to be part of a team dedicated to building AI/ML applications that process critical business data using the latest technology? The Finance Technology (FinTech) Accounting Intelligence Services (“AIS”) team is building the future of Amazon’s internal accounting and finance applications using AI & ML to ensure complete, timely and accurate financial data while enabling timely decision through data driven insights. We build AI/ML systems that use Amazon’s vast landscape of transactional data and knowledge bases with the latest techniques for forecasting, classification, anomaly detection, document processing and end user natural language Q&A purposes.

They have the technical chops to design and build complex distributed systems that run at global scale. They lead by example, can communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences and are comfortable pitching new ideas. Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will participate in all parts of the software development process, from collaborating with customers on delightful customer experiences, architecture design to executing that design in a scalable and extensible way. You will play a major role in the architecture, design, implementation, and deployment of applications. You will push your design and architecture limits by inventing and simplifying complex problems. You utilize strong verbal and written communication skills, are self-driven, and can deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment. An engineer in this role works with Amazon engineering and business teams across the globe in planning, designing, executing, and implementing new capabilities for the product.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
