Koniag Professional Services, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Visitor Welcome Center (VWC) Supervisor with a Secret Clearance to support KPS and our government customer in Arlington, VA.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and manage the DARPA Visitor Welcome Center and DARPA Conference Center contractor team.

  • Serve as the initial entry point for all DARPA visitors.

  • Determine visitor’s identity and citizenship and make appropriate determinations to allow or deny the visit.

  • Receive and send Visit Authorization Letters (VALs) and document related information in various computer systems.

  • Prepare and issue temporary Government employees, contractor and visitor security badges to DARPA employees, contractors, and visitors.

  • Enter relevant data and maintain appropriate records.

  • Inventory and account for all badges.

  • Use various computer systems to verify identity, clearances, and visit authorization and to document the visitor’s identity, to include taking a photograph of the visitor.

  • Occasionally responsible for escorting visiting personnel to their destinations within the facility.

  • Knowledgeable of DARPA and DoD security requirements and fully qualified in actions needed to ensure the safety and security of all individuals and to detect or prevent compromise of information or material.

Required Skills and Experience for this position:

  • Must have demonstrated managerial skills resulting in the effective utilization of resources and personnel to include creating a cooperative and efficient work environment; must possess excellent written and oral communication skills; must have demonstrated excellent skills in customer relations; must have the ability to draft and coordinate security policy and procedure; schedule the workforce; document activities; resolve issues; prepare and provide briefings and perform security inspections; and must have the demonstrated ability to supervise a security officer force of a minimum of five personnel.

  • A minimum of three (3) years supervising visitor control personnel in a classified DoD environment, with two years being served immediately prior to working on this contract; related experience, such as military police or law enforcement, may be used to satisfy this requirement if the related experience involves supervising visitor control personnel, guard force, physical security, or law enforcement operations in the Federal Government or private sector.

  • Top Secret clearance, with eligibility for SAP and SCI access.

  • Successful completion of the requirements for Preventing Disease Transmission (i.e., blood-borne pathogens); successful completion of all training required by the contract.

  • In good general health without physical impairments which would interfere with the performance of duties, including prolonged walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, moving rapidly to respond to various situations.

Required Skills and Experience for work at DARPA on this contract:

  • Be a US Citizen

  • Be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate SID and DARPA needs.

  • Be able to travel and perform work at other geographical locations.

  • Have the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work activities.

  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language and have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

  • Have the ability to accurately and completely prepare and maintain files, records, and reports and to convey factual information.

  • Have the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Have the ability to remain calm in emergency situations.

  • Have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions with limited supervision.

  • Have skill in reading, writing, basic math, document composition, and analytical problem solving; and

  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment on the contract.

  • Fluent in the written and spoken English language and shall have strong written and oral communication skills.

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
