LOCATION: MALAGA- MAINTENANCE

COMPENSATION: $34.50 / HOUR

PURPOSE:

Perform skilled journeyman level work in installing, maintaining and repairing wiring and electrical equipment. Troubleshoot and repair wiring or electrical equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Perform skilled journey level work installing, maintaining and repairing wiring and electrical equipment; troubleshooting wiring or electrical equipment. Replace defective wiring and make connections to new electrical installations. Inspect and repair lighting systems; install industrial electrical systems and controls; work from blueprints, wiring diagrams and verbal instructions. Lead and supervise other personnel in the absence of foreman. Assist in the training of all electrical positions. Perform light mechanical maintenance and other duties as required or directed by the supervisor. Assist other construction personnel in the performance of their duties. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Safely operate aerial lift equipment. Must proficiently use all tools required of an Electrician II, advanced electrical and electronic testing equipment. Travel for work as necessary.

PYHSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to operate hand and power tools, working on equipment that is elevated or low to the ground. Ability to work outdoors. Ability to work on and build equipment. Ability to move in food processing facilities (sometimes through narrow passages, in wet areas, or on elevated platforms). Ability to inspect equipment. Must be able to work in different temperatures (working temperatures as hot as 100 to 110 F and as cold as -20 F to 32 F). Must be able to work in a high noise area. Must be able to move items weighing up to 50 lbs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have successfully completed 3 semesters of an acceptable level electrical education.
  • Must be an Electrician II for a minimum of one year.
  • Must have a minimum of 6 years experience in the industrial electrical trade.
  • Perform all the duties of an Electrician II.
  • Must be able to pass the Electrician III electrical exam test.
  • Use advanced math calculations required for layout and installation of electrical services, load centers and motor control center.
  • Read and understand blueprints, wiring diagrams or verbal instructions normal to the trade.
  • Estimate accurately time and materials necessary to do the job.
  • Must be available for call outs.
  • Must know and follow all company electrical safety/GMP policies and procedures.
  • Must have the ability to travel when needed.
  • Must be able to read and understand written information in English.
  • Must have a valid drivers license with a clean DMV driving record.
  • Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation.
