Hagerty is currently seeking recovery staff to support local government recovery work in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene in Florida. The Recovery Managing Associate will leverage their knowledge of disaster recovery programs and advise clients who are navigating complex government projects. A successful candidate for this role will be a polished professional with expertise in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) and/or Individual Assistance (IA) Program who can take the initiative and act as a mid-level consultant with a variety of different stakeholders. The Recovery Managing Associate will support clients on-site.
Candidates for Recovery Managing Associate will be considered for contract-based positions.
Responsibilities for the Recovery Managing Associate Include:
Support local governments and private non-profits with their comprehensive recovery from natural disasters.
Heavily integrate with government and private non-profit clients who are managing multi-billion dollar, long- and short-term disaster recovery projects by guiding them through administrative and policy challenges.
Contribute to drafting guidance to clients on the eligibility of FEMA PA and/or IA costs / activities related to these disasters.
Qualifications for the Recovery Managing Associate Include:
A Bachelor-s Degree.
A minimum of two years (2) of experience supporting the FEMA PA and/or IA Program.
Previous project management experience.
Strong communication skills, including written and verbal presentations to clients.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and Microsoft Word.
Preferred Qualifications for the Recovery Managing Associate Include:
Prior consulting experience is highly desirable, ideally with proven success advising local governments on disaster recovery programs.
Knowledge of other disaster recovery program funding, such as the Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program.
A master-s degree, ideally with formal education in business, public administration, finance, construction management, emergency management, or a field related to disaster recovery.
Compensation for the Recovery Managing Associate Includes:
Salary range of $70,000-$110,000. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and training, licensure and certifications, internal equity, location, travel requirements, and other business and organizational needs.
