Job Summary:

Trane in Richmond, Virginia is hiring a Turnkey/Special Projects Superintendent to join our organization. In this role you will be responsible for supervising HVAC Field Technicians who repair/retrofit/replace HVAC systems, utilizing knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, controls, and mechanical layouts.

This role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Assist in scheduling, organizing, and dispatching HVAC Field Technicians and subcontractors to meet customer demands.

  • Assist and complete field reports, logs, safety sheets, for projects.

  • Collaborate with Project Managers & Estimators on jobsite walkthroughs for Turnkey projects to prepare for on-site installations and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating on-site work as necessary.

  • Provide go-to technical support for internal customers and Field Technicians.

  • Partner with Technician Development Leader to identify and drive developmental and training opportunities for technicians.

  • Assist Area Contracting Manager with performance reviews, development discussions as well as recommendations for hiring/firing of staff.

  • Evaluate area safety needs/requirements to provide feedback and recommendations to technicians and assist in the implementation of safety policies, procedures, and training.

  • Assist Technicians in scheduling, completing, and documentation for monthly, quarterly, and annual requirements.

  • Overnight travel required on occasion.

  • Other responsibilities & functions may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

  • Experience with general construction managing & supervising field teams including subcontractors required.

  • Working knowledge of HVAC products, systems, electronics, and controls preferred.

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification & Journeyman License preferred.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to:

  • DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $ 70,000-100,000 / yr.

Total compensation for this role will include an incentive plan.
