Job Summary

The Enterprise Inventory Planner position is responsible for providing inventory visibility and communication thru reporting that measures inventory position compared to the company’s financial objectives. This role will provide oversight and detailed evaluation of inventory plans to improve inventory quality and achieve targets. Must understand the key business metrics (Revenue, Margin, Availability, Forward cover, Sell thru, Turn, Productivity) and are able to prepare and present summarized views of inventory performance, articulating risks and opportunity. This cross functional role works across multiple seasons at the same time driving mutually beneficial improvements to our financial results and consumer experience. Additionally, this role supports the corporate replicated inventory process, acting as a cross functional representative within the planning department and closely partnering with DC planning & strategy, IT and order management.

Representative Responsibilities

  • Review KPIs and reporting against targets to provide visibility to partners and leadership. Work with key partners to measure progress against targets.

  • Guide pre-season inventory buys within provided financial targets.

  • Build close partnerships with Supply Chain to monitor and analyze the optimal inventory levels to support demand, within company’s targets .

  • Identify, analyze, and provide recommendations on unproductive/obsolete inventory.

  • Analyze KPIs related to inventory, inclusive but not limited to turn, weeks of supply, slow moving.

  • Run reporting that supports monthly revenue process

  • Responsible for reporting to support location level unit ship and inventory plans.

  • Key partner in replicated inventory process, ensuring logic supports our accounts while minimizing risk to non-split accounts, ensure seasonal replicated material lists are feasible and achievable to support replication.

  • Advocate for solutions on how to achieve optimal inventory levels across the network thru PO redirects, STO’s, and future receipt balancing.

  • May participate in additional projects that are in support of Carhartt corporate initiatives.

  • Support in creating reports that benefit the broader planning team.

    Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience

    Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a planning and/or inventory management field

  • High level of analytical thinking with strong aptitude with retail math, forecasting methodology and inventory management

  • Self-motivated, passionate and enthusiastic individual ready to bring energy and excitement to lead their business

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels including management and business unit partners

  • Outstanding organizational skills with a natural curiosity and interest in problem solving

  • Flexible team player who thrives in environments requiring ability to effectively prioritize and delegate workload, juggling multiple concurrent projects and deliverables

  • Strong sense of urgency to change, adapt, and push processes forward

  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office and Planning tools) are needed

    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Typical office environment; cubicle/office setting.

  • Extended periods of time sitting, standing, typing on a computer is required.

  • Travel required, may be up to 10% of time

  • This position has a Remote location: Associate will have no regular requirement to be on-site. Travel on-site is limited to special events.
