Core Responsibilities
Respond to corporate and local emergencies as directed by the Facilities and Field Services Emergency Support Group Section Manager, including on-site response within the service territory, as well as outside the service territory as needed. Participate in the Incident Command Structure as needed for a Logistics response. Shift schedule varies depending upon emergency and may include night and weekend shifts.
Assist in the management of Logistics System Emergency Assignment augmentees during emergency response.
Maintain rosters of company personnel participating in the Logistics System Emergency Assignment program. Accurately process deletions and replacements. Maintain various rosters by emergency assignment, home department, call-out prioritization (based on emergency categories). Maintain call-out/contact listings of Logistics System Emergency Assignment participants, including home telephone numbers, business telephone numbers, cellular phones, and other contract information.
Conduct periodic site and contact reviews of potential staging areas, material lay down areas, dry ice distribution sites, and other logistics sites. Conduct periodic reviews of available lodging and other logistics services.
Ensure emergency response equipment (e.g. generators, mobile command centers / field office trailers, light towers, fuel skids) are maintained and comply with all regulatory requirements (permits, fire extinguisher checks, etc.). Maintain inventories of all equipment and material to be deployed during a system emergency (e.g. Mi-Fi's, walkie-talkies, hotel kits, logistics site manager/coordinator kits, electric & gas emergency supplies, etc.). Ensure that all material and equipment is in working order.
Provide logistics support on mutual aid trips to other utilities, including traveling with mutual aid crews to locations within and outside of the CECONY/ORU service territory.
Assist in preparation of reports before, during and after system emergencies in conjunction with the affected operating organization(s). Coordinate recommendations and implementation of follow-up issues with appropriate individuals and groups.
Process requisitions, receipts, and GOIs in Oracle as needed for the operation of the section and for emergency response. Track expenditures needed for logistics functions during emergency response.
Monitor daily Electric, Gas and Steam systems, along with weather conditions, and identify potential requirements for mobilizing the Emergency Support Group. Monitor daily Astoria Operations activities for immediate/emergency requests that may result in mobilizing the Emergency Support Group.
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience (1H) or
Associate's Degree and 4 years work experience (1H) or
High School Diploma/GED and 5 years work experience (1H)
Relevant Work Experience
Experience working within an Incident Command structure. Required
Field experience Preferred
Experience working on an ICS staff during corporate incidents assigned as a ICS Staff position (e.g. unit leader) Preferred
Field experience in electric, gas, steam Preferred
Experience with Oracle BI Preferred

Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
Must be able to bend, kneel, stand and/or lift heavy boxes during archival process
Must be able and willing to travel, as needed
Must be able to participate in the Company's emergency management processes and storm plans as required.
