Columbia Memorial Hospital Athletic Trainer in Astoria, Oregon

ELIGIBLE FOR CMH EMPLOYEE REFERRAL BONUS: PRIORITY RECRUITMENT

The Certified Athletic Trainer is responsible for treatment and documentation of outpatients in the clinical setting and athletic injuries in the school setting, including immediate attention to sports practice and competition injuries. Volume in each setting depends on positions. Certified Athletic Trainers will also be responsible for supervision of rehabilitation aides, as well as assist with other duties as required in the outpatient physical therapy setting. May also be asked to assist with cardiac rehabilitation department duties, assisting the Exercise Physiologist and Cardiac Rehab RN with patient care and other duties as needed. The Certified Athletic Trainer may also be asked to work at other local sports events as requested by the Rehabilitation Manager.

Job Requirements Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to: Must have own automobile in safe, working order. Must have a valid driver's license and have documentation of current vehicle insurance per policy.

License/Certification Must have a current Certification in Athletic Training (ATC) from the NATABOC. Must have a valid state license or registration or valid temporary permit as a Certified Athletic Trainer, issued by the Oregon State Athletic Trainer Licensing Board. BLS certification required.

Education and/or Experience Must have successfully completed a program culminating with a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited school with the necessary requirements to be eligible to take National Athletic Trainers Board of Certification Examination.

Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance Works inside and outside. Walking and standing much of the time while on duty. Subject to occasional stress in fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines. Must be capable of providing treatments, some of which will require strength. Aware of proper body mechanics at all times. Position involves standing, walking, stooping, and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (up to 20 pounds). May be required to sit for extended periods of time. Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment. Transfers patients to/from cars, stretchers, beds, chairs, and ambulates as necessary. Must have ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
