Ohio University Coordinator of RHE Workforce Initiatives & Support in Athens, Ohio

Job Description:

Reporting to the Dean of Campus and Community Relations for the Lancaster campus, the Coordinator of RHE Workforce Initiatives and Support is responsible for coordinating and executing workforce development initiatives to provide education and training needs for the campus and Regional Higher Education. Located at the Fairfield County Workforce Center, the position will directly support programming offered at and/or through the center, including all associated regulatory compliance tracking and reporting. Travel to other regional campus locations to perform various duties may be required.

Workforce Development Initiatives:

  • In collaboration with the campus dean, identifies, develops, coordinates and executes outreach and workforce development strategy to significantly expand and develop new work training relationships with industrial and community-based nonprofit agencies. Working with appropriate University constituents, responsible for developing, creating, formalizing and executing partnership agreements for training opportunities for Regional Higher Education, with a primary focus on the Lancaster campus and surrounding counties.

  • In support of OHIO’s partnership with Fairfield County and Hocking College, represents Ohio University Regional Higher Education in day-to-day activities at the Fairfield County Workforce Center: participates in center events, provides support to students and faculty, and engages in routine partnership activities.

  • Establish and maintain contacts and partnerships with community leaders, community organizations and businesses to support the mission of the campus and university in consultation with the campus leadership. Additionally, makes contact and establish meetings with local and regional business, industry, and non-profit leaders to develop new and continued opportunities for partnership and training services.

  • Supports and tracks implementation and performance information for standalone certificate programs offered through Regional Higher Education at any regional campus, including but not limited to:

  • Academic support, including course instruction and evaluation

  • Student services, including admissions, advising, financial aid counseling, and career services (e.g. career counseling, job search support, internship / externship search)

  • Communication and marketing development that accurately reflects program opportunities and requirements

  • Data collection and reporting, in collaboration with the Office of Student Financial Aid & Scholarships, to support federal reporting requirements

  • Enrollment and completion monitoring, including post-completion student metrics (e.g. job placement) and subsequent degree matriculation

  • Other duties as assigned.

    RHE Initiatives:

  • Under the direction of the Vice Provost for Regional Higher Education and Partnerships or designee, manages partnerships with third-party vendors (ex: VESi, Ed2Go, and CLS by Barbri) to expand online non-credit professional development and continuing education opportunities to RHE campuses.

  • Serve as the project director for current Regionally Aligned Priorities in Developing Skills ( RAPIDS ) program. Manages overall grant efforts, secures quotes, and ensures payments, completes reports for ODHE , works with faculty and departments to ensure compliance, coordinates promotion efforts for ODHE reporting and campus promotions.

  • Coordinates and provides oversight for RHE Workforce Success Initiative. Promotes opportunities, secures, and provides guidance to review/selection committee, establishes timelines, serves as liaison to RHE leadership, collects ongoing reports, coordinates promotions of efforts.

  • Facilitates CEU efforts including evaluating proposals, assigning CEUs, awarding certificates of completion and record keeping.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, Public Admin, or related field

  • A minimum of 4 years work-related experience

  • A minimum of 4 years of supervisory or managerial experience

Master’s degree in Business, Communication, Public Admin, or related field

Advertised Salary:

Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Hiring range is $51,281 to $67,947. Employees also enjoy a generous benefits package including health benefits, paid time off, and education benefits for employees and eligible dependents.
