Starr Regional Medical Center is currently seeking talent to fill the position ofMedical Technologist (MT)for our LaboratoryDepartment. This job is permanent,full-time.
*Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following: *
- Performs common testing procedures and reports test results.
- Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Performs quality control testing.
- Maintains supplies needed for performance of tests.
- Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing.
- Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.
- Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.
- Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.

Minimum EducationBachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology and ASCP certification by a CLIA approved credentialing organization ORBS equivalency by passing a certification exam given by a CLIA approved credentialing organization MT(ASCP), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), MT(AMT):□ Preferred, X Required
Required Licenses[Tennessee, United States] Clinical Laboratory Personnel Technologist MT (ASCP) certification OR equivalent (AMT) OR State of Tennessee Medical Technologist license OR Medical Technologist- General Supervisor:□ Preferred X Required
Required SkillsCertifications:The below certifications will be required at the time of hire:X Basic Life Support (BLS)
