Job Summary

The Application Engineer will play a role in collaborating with the Sales and Technical organizations internal and external to promote the entire range of Building and Refrigeration products. They will own engagements for controls design, startup & commissioning support, training and solving of all products and services offered. They will also understand the requests of the customer and suggest the right product and control sequences for the specific application, and to be able to understand specific customer requests.

Main Duties

  • Work with the teams to develop appropriate solutions and quantify the customer requirements.

  • Develop supervisory sequence of operations (SOO), provide application solutions and support of HVACR manufacturers (OEM).

  • Develop and execute programming strategies to optimize systems

  • Support implementation of CO2 products and continued system tuning and optimization.

  • De-brief sessions with field service, technical support, and project engineering teams to ensure continued support of application solutions.

  • Maintain Advanced user level of products, services, and applications the company offers.

  • Maintain proficiency in all designated third-party products and services.

  • Ability to provide onsite startup of Building and Refrigeration controls, Cold Chain (Ensure equipment is operational and free of defects). Troubleshooting, commissioning via remote and onsite locations.

  • Technical SME and key escalation point of contact for assigned accounts

  • Present application informative content and training for internal staff and equipment manufacturers (OEM).

Required Education, Experience & Skills

  • Associate’s (AA) degree from a two-year college or technical school along with 5 years related HVAC/R experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Certified in the use and handling of HFC, HCFC, A2L refrigerants.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office suite.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% during onboarding, with an average of 25% travel once fully onboarded- all travel expenses are company paid.

  • Authorization to work in the United States now and in the future- Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with Copeland controls in the field, startup of Cascade systems, Transcritical, Booster/Parallel systems preferred.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary/pay range for this role is $58,373 - $130,000 annually , commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
