Honeywell Assistant Project Manager - Fire Alarm Systems in Atlanta, Georgia

Be responsible for leading the successful implementation of fire alarm installation projects at mission critical facilities. This position will report to the Project Manager and receive day to day work direction from the Project Manager to assist with all aspects of the project including onsite client relationships, resolution of technical or logistical issues, and project execution delivered on budget, on time with a highly satisfied customer. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator across various mediums. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives in the field to quickly fix any administrative difficulties relating to delivery and installation of proper equipment. You will follow detailed work instructions and amend any outdated or incorrect instructions with help of program engineering teams. You will make offer suggestions to improve training guides and documentation. You will train the customer on proper usage, provide technical presentations, troubleshooting, and basic repair procedures for installed equipment. This position requires good understanding and knowledge of general and electrical construction means and methods, fire alarm and electrical code, basic to advanced programming knowledge, construction scheduling and reading and interpreting construction documents.

This position will require roughly 75% travel throughout the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • On-site technical lead

  • Provide daily work direction to the onsite project subcontractor and technicians on assigned projects.

  • Deliver projects on-time, on-budget to a high degree of customer satisfaction.

  • Provide input to develop a comprehensive installation plan including sequencing of tasks, scheduling, staff planning, and collaborating effectively with the customer, subcontractors, and other Honeywell Future Shapers to execute the project according to plan

  • Proactively address potential project problems. Assist the project manager to manage project risks. Develop and implement recovery plans when required. Escalate issues when required.

  • Contribute to the profitability of the project by supporting project adds, minimizing deviation, and providing technical assistance to sales.

  • Effectively communicate project progress to the program management team and client.

  • Develop and manage project communication plan requirements including look ahead schedules, weekly report agendas and minutes in addition to client and management reporting.

  • Ensure all work performed follows state, local and federal requirements.

  • Ensure all Honeywell and subcontractor staff adhere to all required safety standards and protocols.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

You Must Have

  • NICET III Certification within 90 days

  • Fire Alarm Programming Experience and Certifications

  • 5 years of experience programming and supervising installation on commercial or industrial construction projects

  • 5 years of experience using Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project

  • Ability to accept assignments which require frequent travel and overnight stays

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.

  • Must pass a US Government background check.

WE VALUE

  • PMP Certification or Certified Construction Management (CCM) Certification

  • NICET Certification – Level III

  • Previous experience with Verifire programming tool.

  • Previous Federal Government Contracting Experience

  • Associate degree or technical/professional certificate

  • Good presentation skills

  • Previous technical/installation experience

  • Good written and oral communication
