Waystar Benefits Manager in Atlanta, Georgia
ABOUT THIS POSITION
The Manager, Benefits will be accountable for the design and administration of Waystar’s benefits programs. An integral position within the People Team, the role keeps current with trends in order to design and implement benefits programs that align with industry best practices and Waystar’s business objectives. These benefits programs include health insurance, retirement plans, leave policies, wellness programs, and other offerings that support team members’ well-being and attract and retain top diverse talent. The role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while optimizing the cost-effectiveness of benefit programs.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Program Design and Administration:
Develop, implement, and manage team members’ benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
Review and analyze existing benefit plans to ensure competitiveness and alignment with organizational goals.
Collaborate with internal teams such as legal, finance and total rewards team and external resources such as our benefit broker, vendors, and consultants to evaluate and select benefits offerings.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA.
Prepare and file required documentation and reports, such as 5500 filings, nondiscrimination testing, and audits.
Monitor legislative updates and trends to adjust programs as needed.
Team members Communication and Support:
Develop and deliver team member education programs regarding benefits options and enrollment processes.
Act as a liaison between team members and benefit providers to address questions, resolve issues, and facilitate claims processing.
Oversee open enrollment processes and ensure seamless communication and execution.
Vendor and Budget Management:
Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with benefits providers and third-party administrators.
Monitor and manage benefits-related budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Evaluate vendor performance and recommend changes as necessary.
Data Management and Analysis:
Utilize HRIS systems to track, manage, and report benefits-related data.
Analyze benefits usage and team member feedback to recommend program improvements.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Certification in benefits management (e.g., CEBS, PHR, SPHR) preferred.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR role.
Proven experience in managing large-scale benefits programs and vendor negotiations.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of team member benefits regulations and compliance
Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration systems
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members at all levels
Maintains high ethical standards and maintain upmost confidentiality in organizational matters
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously
Strategic mindset with a focus on optimizing benefits offerings to support organizational goals
Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams and external vendors
