The Office of Financial Aid is searching for a Data Analyst to join their team!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates and maintains a data dictionary and meta data.

  • Supports efforts to ensure that data standards are developed and maintained.

  • Ensures that the uses of data through reports and queries are accurate.

  • Supports business and system re-engineering and architecture development to define future data needs.

  • Serves as an organizational consultant on matters relating to databases by providing expertise to assist users in meeting their needs.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop standardized operational, management, and ad hoc reports.

  • Prepare reports related to funding, awards and various enrollment management benchmarks.

  • Assist Director of Data Analytics in collaboration with internal and external constituents including institutional research and enrollment management administrators to provide data for decision making and strategic planning.

  • Coordinate relationships with various staff across the institution to assure that data management services are responsive to their needs.

  • Assist with outside agency’s audits.

  • Assist with preparation, extraction and validation of student data for internal and external agencies including reporting to Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), Common Data Set, Peterson’s Annual survey’s, Princeton Review, US News & World Report’s survey’s, Forbes Business, FISKE, Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation, LCME, etc.

  • Write and document report procedures for the office.

  • Assist Director with data preparation needs in relation to the organization's strategic planning.

  • Attend campus IT briefings to keep track of changes around the campus and apply the changes to the department as appropriate.

  • Serve as a resource person in areas of data management and reporting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree and one year of experience in data analysis, statistics, or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with PeopleSoft.

  • Data/statistic modeling.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • SPSS and Tableau.

  • Enrollment Service experience (Financial Aid in particular).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Two years of experience in processes and standards related to data and a bachelor's degree.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
