Position Summary :

This role will lead the engineering teams building the tools and systems that ingest, manage, orchestrate, and deliver WBD’s live programming to Max, TNT Sports, D+, and many other WBD brands.

You will lead by example, define best practices, and set high standards for the entire team and for the rest of the organization. You have a successful track record for ambitious projects delivered reliably across global, cross-functional teams. You are passionate and results oriented. You strive for technical excellence and are very hands-on.

About the team:

The InFlow engineering organization builds backend services hosted on AWS that ingest live programming data (schedules, video settings, artwork, etc.), orchestrate their interactions with other systems through the program’s lifecycle (e.g. managing the video encoders), and delivers the live programming to WBD’s content systems. The group also builds the web-based tooling that live event operators and editors use to run live events (e.g. sporting events).

The InFlow engineering org is global, with teams in the US and in Europe.

Role and responsibilities

  • Recruit and build engineering teams with a mix of front-end, back-end, and full-stack engineers.

  • Build cutting-edge capabilities for how live programming is ingested, orchestrated, and delivered to WBD’s content systems.

  • Build web-based tools for WBD’s live programming operators and editors that enables them to deliver programs to consumers.

  • Mentor, guide, coach, coordinate training opportunities and support individual growth and technical skills across the engineering teams.

  • Enable a continuous learning environment to keep abreast of industry trends.

  • Leverage industry best practices and tools to continually improve teams' ability to build, operate and maintain products.

  • Ensure that technical solutions are in line with established WBD Digital strategy, standards in respect to architecture, security, corporate governance, coding standards, monitoring, logging, unit test, and service enablement.

Ideal experience

  • 10+ years of experience leading engineering teams.

  • Experience designing, building, deploying, testing, maintaining, monitoring, and owning scalable, resilient distributed systems using cloud services.

  • Experience with modern programming languages, distributed database, queues, stream processing, container orchestration, and front-end web frameworks.

  • Obsession for service observability, instrumentation, monitoring, and alerting.

  • Knowledge of AWS, GCP or similar cloud platforms.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $234,500.00 - $435,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
