Job Description

Design, implement, and maintain the end user computing environment, including desktop, laptop, and mobile devices.

Manage virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.

Oversee software distribution, patch management, and OS imaging processes to ensure consistent and secure deployment across all devices.

Implement and manage security solutions, including encryption, antivirus, and endpoint protection to safeguard end user devices.

Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry regulations, performing regular audits and remediation as needed.

Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to address vulnerabilities and enhance endpoint security.

Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex end user computing issues.

Act as an escalation point for the IT support team, assisting with resolving challenging hardware, software, and connectivity problems.

Monitor system performance and implement solutions to optimize end user experience.

Work closely with other IT teams to support the rollout of new technologies , software upgrades, and infrastructure projects.

Lead or participate in projects aimed at improving the end user computing environment, such as device refresh cycles, VDI expansions, and new software implementations.

Coordinate with vendors and service providers for procurement, support, and maintenance of end user computing assets.

Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline device management, software deployment, and configuration tasks.

Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and processes, improving efficiency and reducing manual effort.

Gather and analyze feedback from end users to continually improve the computing experience.

Provide training and resources to end users on best practices for using computing devices and software.

Create and maintain documentation for end user computing processes, policies, and troubleshooting guides.

Stay current with the latest trends and developments in end user computing, recommending new technologies and approaches to enhance the environment.

Conduct regular assessments of the end user computing environment, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience: 2-3 years of experience in end user computing, desktop engineering, or a related role, with a strong background in device management and virtualization technologies.

Technical Skills:

Expertise in Windows and macOS operating systems, as well as mobile device management (MDM) solutions.

Experience with VDI solutions such as VMware Horizon, Citrix XenDesktop , AWS Workspaces, or Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop.

Proficiency in software deployment tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune) and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).

Familiarity with networking fundamentals and security best practices.

Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Citrix Certified Associate - Virtua ization (CCA-V) are a plus.
