How you will create an impact

The role serves as the global marine recovery technical referral point for Global Marine claim team members as well as collaboration with regional claims leadership, Global Marine business leaders & other stakeholders to deliver a consistent, efficient and customer centric Marine Recovery proposition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong technical marine recovery support and leadership across Global Marine claim portfolio, aimed at ensuring the best possible recovery outcomes through technical excellence and Total Cost of Claim management

  • Act as the Global Marine Recovery coordinator for large claims, authorizing settlements and payments within granted authority and referring over authority claim decisions to appropriate senior claim leadership

  • Work closely with North America (NA) Marine Liability Claim manager to support development of bench strength across Global Marine Recovery to ensure appropriate skill sets to support both existing and future state claim portfolios

  • Support continuous review of existing best practice guidelines and claim adjustment procedures in conjunction with the NA Marine Liability Claim manager to facilitate the identification and subsequent implementation of enhancement delivery to ensure best practice in Global Marine Recovery

  • Develop AIG’s Global Marine Recovery thought leadership by supporting Claims colleagues in contributing to and participating in market seminars, programs & industry events

  • Contribute to the implementation of VBA, LRA and any future digital initiatives to improve operational efficiency

  • Support NA Marine Liability Claim manager in the identification and reporting of Global Marine Recovery trends, lessons learned & risk management opportunities and to share with relevant Global Marine stakeholders (to include Claims, Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance, Risk Management)

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong technical Marine Recovery capability to manage and oversee AIG’s Global Marine Recovery portfolio

  • Demonstrate an established & proven reputation in Global Marine Recovery management

  • Ability to manage the total cost of Global Marine Recovery indemnity & expense

  • Identify, develop and implement process improvement and efficiency opportunities

  • Highly collaborative approach to influence a broad range of Global Marine stakeholders, customers and brokers / producers across multiple functions, geographies and cultures
