Location: All Emory Clinical Sites

Note: This is a travel position, andit involves approximately 75% clinical instruction for pre- licensure nursing students and 25%

primary direct care nursing (bedside care delivery)

Salary: $69

We'reseeking an Internal Travel Nursing Clinical Instructor serves pre-licensure nursing students by providing clinical instruction, acting as a preceptor, and being a resource for colleagues. They advocate strongly for patients and families. Recognized as a clinical expert and role model, the instructor applies the nursing process and evidence-based practices to meet the complex care needs of specific patient populations.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide instruction, supervision, and evaluation of pre-licensure nursing students in various settings including clinical, lab, and simulation environments.

  • Deliver educational experiences in collaboration with nursing faculty and leadership based on approved course syllabi, objectives, outlines, and assignments.

  • Supervise and evaluate groups of pre-licensure nursing students in clinical, lab, and simulation settings.

  • Coordinate with clinicians at clinical sites to deliver and evaluate clinical education experiences.

  • Meet regularly with students to provide academic feedback and facilitate post-conferences following clinical experiences.

  • Maintain student records

  • Serve as a resource person for nursing students, physicians, nurses, patients, and family members. - Apply principles of adult learning to plan and conduct educational sessions promoting professional development, student competence, and positive patient/family outcomes.

  • Model expert communication skills and time management through example. Ensure compliance with stated policies and procedures and remain informed of innovative clinical trends through benchmarking and evidence-based practice.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in teaching and precepting skills while applying adult learning theories. Facilitate knowledge development in pre-licensure nursing students, including effective delegation and clinical skills.

  • Assure opportunities for students to acquire necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviors to fulfill clinical requirements.

  • Work with preceptors to individualize unit educational experiences. Assume a leadership and resource role within the interdisciplinary team.

  • Contribute to evaluating resource use and cost containment activities. - Assist in developing clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills in others.

  • Maintain confidentiality and respect confidential information. Attend scheduled staff meetings and demonstrate competency in new equipment and procedures. Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MSN required. - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • 5 years of recent and relevant nursing experience in the specialty area

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, FHM certifications relevant to the role are required. –

  • Professional certification in at least one relevant specialty area preferred; completion required within one year of employment with ESP.

Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators. This position involves approximately 75% clinical instruction for pre-licensure nursing students and 25% primary direct care nursing (bedside care delivery).
