WORK LOCATION, SCHEDULE, & TRAVEL
This position will be based out of Birmingham, AL or Atlanta, GA, however candidates living outside of the area may be considered with the expectation that they could successfully telework and would be willing to travel to work and/or field location on a routine (to be determined) and as-needed basis.
Hybrid work schedule (both in-office and telecommute); currently three (3) days in-office and two (2) days telecommute (subject to adjustment).
Relocation assistance may be provided if the successful candidate does not currently live within a reasonable commuting distance.
Travel expectations – approximately 25% per year, to include both office and field locations as dictated by business need.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager, Business Readiness and Organizational Change Management (OCM) is responsible for leading the development and execution of change management strategies and plans to ensure successful adoption and implementation of business technology initiatives. This role will oversee the OCM process for guiding the business through change by managing the “people” side of change using a framework to prepare leaders and stakeholders to better manage and adopt change for sustained business value.
Business Readiness/OCM is defined as the business approach to manage the transition or transformation of the organization capabilities, people, processes or technologies. Business Readiness/OCM works to ensure the changes introduced by the initiative render intended results and outcomes by focusing on the people side of the change.
Leadership Engagement & Alignment: Align leaders to overall strategic objectives and define leadership roles and engagement activities associated with technology delivery
Communication & Engagement: Promote buy-in and stakeholder engagement throughout the technology delivery using a tailored communication and engagement approach
Learning & Proficiency: Facilitate the design and deployment of a role-based learning program to enable end users to perform their job functions using new systems and processes.
Readiness & Adoption: Prepare the organization by defining readiness and adoption criteria and assessing readiness throughout the technology delivery
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Engineering, Human Resources, or business-related field required.
A Master’s degree is a plus
Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in a leadership or management position (w/ direct reports), with a proven track record of leading and developing teams.
Proven ability to navigate in a matrixed organizational structure.
Experience in developing and leading change management strategies that support transformation initiatives, technology implementations, process changes, etc.
Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and adapt to a changing environment
Experience in the utility or energy sector is a plus.
Change Management certification a plus.

Proficiency in project management, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate and resolve conflicts.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide thought leadership, structure, estimating, and resource management for Organizational Change Management (OCM) for Technology Initiatives across Power Delivery. This includes development and sustainment of OCM standards, processes, and deliverables focused on driving the necessary behavioral shift required when introducing new/updated technologies.
Provide and lead a structured, thorough, business-centered approach to business readiness preparation that is based on the size and nature of the project and guide the business through readiness preparation.
Advise leaders on proactively managing stakeholders, including anticipating and mitigating risks and issues, navigating stakeholder conflicts and prioritization, and facilitating adoption of technology and processes across functional areas and operating companies
Develop comprehensive measurement tools and KPIs to gauge the change program’s effectiveness and improve short-and long-term planning, strategies, and tactics.
Set team goals, provide coaching and feedback, and developmental opportunities to direct reports.
Build relationships and establish and maintain SOWs with external providers to supplement resources, as needed, to deliver effectively for our organization.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and best practices.
Model and support Safety Excellence and Human Performance initiatives.
Champions a culture that values safety, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Identify functional area priorities and timelines that may create challenges with adoption (e.g. Rate Cases, large technology implementations)
Collaborate with OCM resources, project managers, business leaders, and other stakeholders to integrate business readiness and OCM activities into project plans
Foster enterprise adoption of Organizational Change Management (OCM) for technology initiatives with a focus on Power Delivery.
